1) What were you trying to do?
Play H.264/MPEG4 videos in HTML5
2) What happened?
MIME type is not supported
3) What should have happened?
The video plays.
The package gstreamer1.0-libav should be installed on Ubuntu 14.04 for Firefox to play H.264 video.
In addition, gstreamer1.0-vaapi could be installed to enable hardware-accelerated playback.
(On some Athena cluster machines, namely the ones with AMD Radeon or Nvidia graphic cards, this means that vdpau-va-driver should be installed as well.)
4) Does this problem happen only on this workstation, or other workstations?
The problem is replicated on other stations.
