On RHEL Athena 9, running barnowl from the locker and scrolling displays
several messages such as:
** (gnome-terminal:1234): WARNING **: No handler for control sequence
`scroll-up' defined.
when moving past some messages, and redraws do not quite work. For
example, a zsig that extends past the width of the window is not cleared
when it is scrolled off the screen. The problem only affects TERM=xterm;
running with xterm-color, vt100, linux, or screen does not produce this
problem.
The problem seems to be related to, e.g.,
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135350
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/39075/
They don't claim the issue is resolved, but I cannot reproduce it on
gnome-terminal on Ubuntu 8.04. I wonder if a recent vte or gnome-terminal
has fixed the bug, since the reports seem to be from around 2005-2007.
