xmh and high message numbers

I don't think that xmh likes message numbers above 10,000.  I had some
in my inbox placed there by inc.  When I attempted to delete them in
xmh, I got:

RAR% TUGetMsgPosition search failed! hi=1, lo=0, msgid=0
errno = 0
exiting.
