Hi.

Thanks for your bug report.  I believe you are encountering a
known problem, caused by panel trying to find each executable
in your PATH, in order to support auto-completion.  The problem
becomes particularly noticeable when you have added many
lockers.

This problem was addressed in a later version of gnome-panel,
by only looking for executables which match what the user has
already typed in.  I have submitted a patch which backports this
change to our version of gnome-panel; this will appear in an
upcoming Athena patch release.
