Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.
It is indeed a known problem that -Zduplexshort fails; as far as I know,
it hasn't worked since the HP5si's were in use.
We don't currently have the resources to fix this problem, and I expect
this to remain broken for the foreseeable future.
