Based on conversation today, I notice that traceroute does not
work on the dialups. Camilla seemed to think that this was a long-standing
state, but my recollection is that it is much more recent problem.
Having traceroute on the dialups is incredibly useful. It's not
rare that normal users need someplace to login to try to run network
diagnostics, and ping and traceroute are pretty basic and essential.
Not everyone has access to private machiens where they can login
to run these kinds of diagnostic tools, and I think it's especially
important that they be available to everyone.
