OK, so upon review, it sounds like the Next Step when seeing this is
to run:

	sh -x `which firefox`

and note the PID returned by testlock (being fed to kill) and then
look for that pid in the process table, with ps.

I supose it's possible that the second case (for which I submitted
the ls -lR) was slightly different for some reason, and I should
probably have compared the sh -x output to be sure...
