The new ooffice (version 2) opens a "Welcome" dialog on startup,
that offers to migrate my ooffice_1.1.4 settings into the new version.
However, Step 3. "Personal Data" has a bug (on Linux):
I checked the box for [ ]Transfer personal data, and was
presented with:
(X) Error loading BASIC of document
file:///var/athena/local/ooffice_v1.1.4/distrib/sun4x_59/OpenOffice.org1.1.4.share/basic/WebWizard/script.xlb/:
General Error.
General input/output error.
[ OK ]
Note that:
- I'm using an i386_rhel4 machine, not a sun4x_59 machine.
- I have /var/athena/local/office_v2.0.1, but not ooffice_v1.1.4
Workaround:
===========
I was able to work around the issue by logging in as root and
running:
cp -a /afs/athena.mit.edu/software/ooffice_v1.1.4 /var/athena/local/
After I did this, the settings migration went fine.
I haven't investigated wiether the ooffice2 migration script can
be fixed to refer to the coorrect WebWizard script in the first place.
