Subject: stuck up printers!
Date: Wed, 26 Jul 89 21:16:10 EDT
From the olc oprinter log:
- ---------
It took a bit of time for me to test because first try I did:
xxx
^L
yyy
And the printer (both homer and helios, as a matter of fact) refused to
print out anything. Not even a header page. It was only 10 bytes, I
guess the printers won't do really small jobs (this is true????)
Anyway I gave it another try with sentences instead of xxx or yyy --
this time 186 bytes, and it worked. Thanks much!
.
.
.
But it is true that neither homer or helios
would do my first job. Both of them spooled the job onto the
printer queue and they became active but no paper at all (not
even the header page) came out of the printer. A bit later
both printers said "no entries in ...."
- --------
The printers are supposed to handle small jobs as well, aren't they?
