I'm actually getting the same results with and without the add -f java.
I'm not sure what caused this behavior to start either, since this
previously worked. (Or at least, I think I remember it previously
working under 9.4. Maybe I'm misremembering.)
I've also tried moving my .java directory out of the way, but that
hasn't helped.
