What were you trying to do?
login/activate machine

What's wrong:
a message like.. "this machine failed to activate.. please contact hotline..."

What should have happened:
I should have been able to login.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
After a discussion on -c sipb, the problem was resolved.
See below for discussion.
Basically, this seems like such a trivial problem that is extremely difficult to troubleshoot. It would make sense if something like this would be able to fix itself.

Hmm.. I have a SunBlade 150 with the message that it has failed to
activiate.. what does this mean? (I have tried power cycling it)

What it really means is "athena sucks."
Possibly it's off the network, or it doesn't have hesiod info,
or its system packs are not attached for some other reason.
Login as root and investigate.
