What were you trying to do?
Interrupt a search on message contents and resume use of Evolution
What's wrong:
Attempts to read messages return error:
Error while retrieving message XXX
No such file or directory.
What should have happened:
If Evolution is not ready to proceed with operations then it should
put up the hour glass and lock out operations.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
Repeat by:
1. Go to folder with many messages.
2. Initiate search on "Message contains".
3. Before search returns results, change search to be simple,
like "Sender contains".
4. See how headers appear as if old search successfully aborted.
5. Click on a header to view message.
6. See error message.
7. Try other messages.
8. Wait a couple minutes and try other mesages.
9. Notice how at some point messages start coming up instead of
flagging errors.
10. Retry initial mesages.
11. Notice how messages that flagged an error STILL flag an error.
12. Notice how going to another folder and returning to folder with
search flags, "Error refreshing folder."
Work around:
Press clear button.
Visit another folder.
Return to folder that had search.
Repeat until no "Error refreshing folder" alert pops up.
Notice how, at long last, messages all come up without error.
