What were you trying to do?
Set my LANG to en_US.UTF-8.
What's wrong:
/usr/lib/locale/en_US.UTF-8/methods_en_US.UTF-8.so.2 is a
dangling symlink. (It points to
../common/methods_unicode.so.2, but common does not exist.)
What should have happened:
/usr/lib/locale/common should be a copy of
/os/usr/lib/locale/common, and the remainder of
/os/usr/lib/locale should also probably be available in
/usr/lib/locale for completeness, even if only via symlinks.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
locale(5)? I can't find anything that actually documents the
need for the methods plugin, but it's empirically necessary.
