Sure, we'll add the screen terminfo entry in the next patch release.  It
doesn't look like screen automatically uses it, so maybe it's a
configure-time test.

In terms of a workaround, I would expect xterm-color to work better than
xtermc, since xtermc is some weird mutant Solaris thing and xterm-color
is a locally-installed terminfo entry from the xterm distribution.  In
my limited tests (pine, mutt, emacs -nw), xterm-color seemed to work
okay, although perhaps not perfectly; I was able to get some slightly
weird behavior out of exiting vi.
