Hi Nayden,
We received your MATLAB bug report.
I ran your example on both MATLAB 7.0 and 7.0.1. Just to make sure that I report the problem faithfully to the MathWorks: is it the fact that there appears to be additional vertical axis, tics, and numbers overlaying the frame slightly displaced to the left of the figure? As a result, there appears to be double numbers on the lower x-axis.
I'm asking because another difference that I see between the two versions are the orientation of the left and right vertical axis labels. They're horizontal in 7.0 and vertical in 7.0.1.

By the way, did you try running 6.5? It's still available on Athena (athena% matlab -ver 6.5.1).
