Hi.

I believe I have this problem sufficiently isolated to hand it over to you
guys, who can more easily turn on debugging on the print server, etc.

See /mit/cfox/Public/dfA356stratton-two-nineteen.mit.edu
for a copy of the offending print job (thank you, Camilla).

When printed, the printer prints the 8 lines of PJL and ensuing
PostScript as text. The job was generated under Windows XP by KLP.

The PJL looks like (except it has literal ^[ and ^Ms):

^[%-12345X@PJL JOB
@PJL SET JOBATTR="JobTrak1=C2671-32:LLP:107"^M
@PJL SET JOBATTR="JobTrak2=000000020"^M
@PJL SET JOBATTR="JobTrak3=Microsoft PowerPoint - Presentation1"^M
@PJL SET JOBATTR="DocumentDescription=Microsoft PowerPoint - Presentation1"^M
@PJL SET JOBATTR="DocOwner=LLP"^M
@PJL SET HOLD=OFF
@PJL SET RESOLUTION = 600
@PJL SET BITSPERPIXEL = 2
@PJL SET ECONOMODE = OFF
@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE = POSTSCRIPT

Removing the JOBATTR lines causes it to print fine.
Removing the ^Ms causes it to print fine.

I conclude that either ifhp is doing something bad, or that the hp
firmware is doing something bad. It's somewhat difficult for me to
tell which it is, but it happens on both ajax and meadow, so I assume
any 8150 will fail similarly.

Presumably you guys can more easily debug the guts of ifhp
to confirm...note that printing with lpr -Praw@meadow-p also works,
but that prints a header page first, which causes me to be suspicious
that it tampers with the job.
