What were you trying to do?
Read mail and news in gnus.

What's wrong:
I tried to view a message containing a tiff image, and emacs
	crashed with the following message:

ld.so.1: emacs: fatal: relocation error: file emacs: symbol TIFFClientOpen: referenced symbol not found

I have placed a copy of a crash-inducing email in
/mit/lgdean/Public/crash-gnus . I have also seen the same
behavior from a newsgroup message, but I don't have an example
handy. I can probably find one if needed.

I have also seen the same behavior on regular athena dialups,
though I haven't tried recently. (I suppose if I'd reported
this bug earlier, then I wouldn't have that problem.)

What should have happened:
Emacs should have displayed the message -- with or without the
image -- but it should not have crashed.

Please describe any relevant documentation references:
	I'm not aware of any.
