I helped someone install an Athena machine yesterday. It installed
perfectly fine. Upon rebooting, though, the machine had no network.

In /etc/modules.conf, I found:

alias eth1 e100

I asked the user about this, and it turns out that he had both wired and
wireless cards in the computer. I didn't attempt to configure the
wireless card, but I added:

alias eth0 e100

to the file, and then after a reboot, everything worked fine.

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts contained ifcfg-eth0, but not ifcfg-eth1.
  /etc/athena/rc.conf has NETDEV=eth0, which I didn't change.
