I was thinking more along the lines of having a trigger in
our rpm, which would determine the right path and adjust
things accordingly.  (The Sun rpms contain scriptlets with
similar logic).  So the risk would be more from a logic error
or a change in the directory naming scheme, but having a
useful diagnostic from the trigger scriptlet might militate
against that.
