Thanks for the bug report. There are two problems leading to this
slowness.
Problem #1 is that, though we intended to make the ooffice locker local,
multiple technical problems got in the way. That situation should be
rectifying itself today.
Problem #2 is that we still list soffice as the default reader for Word
documents. This will be fixed in the next patch release (9.3.12).
>From past experience, I don't think launching ooffice will be terribly
fast even with the locker local; programs like this tend to do enough
fiddling around in the homedir that they still launch a little slowly.
But hopefully the delay should be more like ten seconds and less like 90
seconds.
