Sometime between when I went home last night, and when I logged in
this afternoon my machine dropped off the network. I came in and did
some network drop swapping and confirmed that wasn;t a problem. I
eventually fixed the problem by down-ing and up-ing eri0.
I have no idea what caused this, I suppose that it could be related to
the power glitch this morning (my machine was on a UPS, but I'll bet
the switches for the building rebooted), it could also be due to the
fact that I was using the serial line heavily and at one point over
filled the ring buffer hundreds of thousands of times, or it could be
something due to the 9.3 release. None of these feel especially
likely, and I do feel like I'm grasping at straws.
I'm not looking for anyone to do any debugging right now, but wanted
to report the problem so that more peopel are keeping their eyes out
for this sort of problem.
