For whatever reason, a lot of 9.2 machines have minorly wacked rpm
databases, which manifests as a failure to be able to rebuild their rpm
databases and occasional duplicate entries for some packages, notably mc.
It's this latter problem which is causing the machines you saw in W20 to
fail their verification.
Taking 9.3 seems to fix all of the above problems, however.
