As suspected, it is not sufficient to build mswordview with
zlib; the libwmf software is also required. To remedy this,
we would either need to install a suitably old version of
libwmf, or (more likely) update/replace mswordview entirely
with the newer wv package. I will try to look into this if
and when time permits.
In the meantime, note that StarOffice (soffice) and OpenOffice
(ooffice) can both display the document properly, and probably
do a better job of it than mswordview or wv could. You can
select one of these applications when viewing the attachment
in evolution. You should also be able to specify one of these
when using MH show, via the MU_MSWORD environment variable (e.g.
"env MU_MSWORD=soffice show"). Unfortunately, the latter does not
work at the moment, due to soffice's not liking the restrictive
umask passed down from MH; that will be fixed after tonight's
volume release. At the same time, ooffice will also be recognized
as a valid MU_MSWORD setting. (The MU_MSWORD variable is also
used when running pine).
