What's wrong:
I got a spam message that when viewed with show, causes show to hang.
When I hit control-c, I'm left with a terminal that doesn't echo my
keystrokes, although it is otherwise functional.
It's reproduceable inside of my screen session, or in a vanilla xterm;
not reproduceable if I run tcsh instead of bash.
Here's a stripped down message that triggers it. (>'s mine)

Missing the trailing dash on the top of the mime boundary and having a
bogus content type seems to be sufficient.
