As a user of the Plato printer (1-142), I got flamed today because the
printer is being driven into the ground by the mean nasty students. I
feel obligated to flame back. If I am flaming at the wrong address,
please accept my apologies and forward this to the appropriate people
at athena...

*****FLAME ON***************

OF COURSE Plato is being overused. As far as I can tell, it is the
ONLY printer on campus that is readily accessible on Sundays!! The
student center is always jammed, 4-035 is always closed, and SOMEONE
decided that demand did not warrant staffing LINUS on Sundays!!

SO, if those of you responsible for keeping Plato running REALLY want
to fix the overuse problem (which I agree is a problem), you have two
options:

MAKE MORE PRINTERS AVAILABLE ON THE WEEKEND!!!!!
(I can't very well wait for Linus to be available when
I have a problem set due Monday at 9AM, now CAN I?)
(Try piping everything through the 9700, since I KNOW
it can handle the volume, and it makes better printout anyway!!!)

DO MY PROBLEM SET FOR ME, SO I DON'T HAVE TO USE THE
PRINTER!!!!

AND, while I'm flaming, I just thought I'd ask...
WHY did I have to wait nearly 2 HOURS to get a VAX??? Is it
my fault that 3.11 software WON'T RUN on an RT? Is it my fault that
the 3.11 software didn't even WORK until Friday? Is it my fault that
SOMEONE can't figure out how to secure a VSII? NO!!!!! BUT it sure
as HELL WILL be my fault if I can't finish a problem set because I
can't get a terminal!!!!!

AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*****FLAME OFF************

In case you didn't notice, I am very upset about this. I also speak
for just about everyone that I've talked to today. SO, I don't care
how this mess gets fixed, just so it DOES get fixed, SOON!
