Every time I reinstall my linux-athena machine, when I change the root
password, it updates the shadow file. However, the md5 hashed
password is not understandable by su nor the text terminals.
I determined that I can solve this problem by geting rid of the md5
directive in the /etc/pam.d/(something) file.
This seems like a problem for some other piece of software though --
I'd rather use the md5 password.
