Fixes for some of the problems you describe are already available in two
patch files available via anonymous FTP from athena-dist.mit.edu.
/pub/kerberos/README.ftp describes how to get these patch files [they
are in the same directory as the original source distribution].
The SunOS 4.0 problems are known; we do not have Sun 4.0 readily
available here, but we have been in communication with people who have
been working on that system, and hope to have patches available soon.
The following have been fixed as of patch 2:
- file [OBJDIR]/util/ss/ss.h gets created as part of the make world process.
- last make (install) "moves" object files to their final system locations.
- ./kadmin/Makefile contains several "install" definitions that have an extra
space in a path definition that causes the install to abort.
- ./appl/bsd/Makefile has an erroneous shell "if-then" statement - files tested
- ./man/Makefile contains bad target, source and destination directories for
creating manual pages for tftpd.8, tcom.8 and tftp.1. Has a preceding
Documentation fixes are underway.
