Hi,
I'm having an odd problem with a private Linux Athena system and Mozilla.
When I try to visit a particular companiy web page "www.ethex.com" my
browser hangs.
A test with Mozilla on another system gave me a hint when it said that the
web page is looking for a Java VM.
Checking with tcpdump hinted that the traffic I was seeing while the system
hung was probably AFS related.
These two facts suggest to me that the Linux Athena install of Mozilla is
configured to start a java_vm process when given the chance, and further
that the system is trying to get it from somewhere in AFS space.
This system is a laptop that occasionally uses a very slow modem, and I've
set up local copies of several Athena lockers with appropriate
/var/athena/local-validated links.
My questions:
How do I find out what binary Mozilla is trying to load?
How do I configure Mozilla to load a local copy?
How do I configure Mozilla to not start a java_vm process?
Thanks,
--Tom
