System name: gasrd.mit.edu
Type and version:	i686 9.1.18 (with mkserv)
Display type: XFree86 4.2.0

Shell: /bin/bash
Window manager: unknown

What were you trying to do?
Install an smp kernel* on a _freshly installed Linux athena machine.

What's wrong:
rpm never finishes. i.e. it hangs. Looking at the
running processes, umount /tmp/initrd.mnt/X5cy57 is taking up 98%
of the cpu. This seems similar to the problem mentioned in
     release-team[3625] , and over -c dev on Thursday Dec 12 .

Thus, anyone doing a fresh install of a Linux Athena machine on
an SMP machine, can't use both processors.

What should have happened:

It should have finished and cleanly umounted any loopback filesystems
that were used in creating the initrd image
