This shouldn't happen if you have a default .login file. .login is
supposed to set the ATHENA_LOGIN_SESSION variable to the pid of the
login session's main process; dustbuster then knows what process to
check up on to see whether the login session is empty.
(It would be nice not to have this dependency, but right now there's no
other way.)
