It seems to work the second time, for me:

[cfox@myxomycete]cfox$ attach bitbucket
bitbucket: System error contacting server JASON.MIT.EDU.
[cfox@myxomycete]cfox$ attach bitbucket
attach: JASON.MIT.EDU:/u1/bitbucket attached to /mit/bitbucket for filesystem bitbucket
[cfox@myxomycete]cfox$ cd /mit/bitbucket/
[cfox@myxomycete]bitbucket$ ls
14.tif 18.tif delete ilya_shl mcmullan sepherke svetla zchi
16.tif README.bitbucket delete.log jef norush.txt sswenson tmp

Even with other knfs lockers, it seems to work consistantly the second
time. I'd been chalking it up to "knfs on linux is a steaming pile".
