What were you trying to do?
Pretty sure it's not relevant, but I was composing mail.
Two xterms, one emacs, mwm, zwgc running.
What's wrong:
The screen that comes up when you hit stop-a spontaneously (AFAICT)
came up in the middle 75%x75% or so of the display, with text
ok help

with 11 "setting clock" lines. I think they were all identical, but
after the "via" I can only be positive of the last two, the others
being obscured now.
I'd done hide_console earlier. The console window remained hidden
when the surprise popped up, and it reappeared normally when I did
show_console afterwards, with no text it hadn't had before.
What should have happened:
I believe the "setting clock" messages should have appeared in the
console window, inspiring it to unhide. But mostly the other thingy
shouldn't have jumped in my face.
