Oh, it's easily explained: I missed the rpmupdate change when I built
the relevant patch release, and didn't rebuild that RPM.
It's definitely worth it to rebuild rpmupdate in the next patch release
(assuming we have one) so that the update to 7.2 won't break for people
who take that patch release (and who have SMP/initrd machines).
I will respond to the other person who reported this problem recently.
