Hi Kevin,

The local account has a homedir on /var/local (see passwd entry
below). The only weird thing about it is that the homedir name isn't
the same as the account name. I don't know if that is a problem or
not. The cron test that I tried for my own account was something
straight-forward like:

  $ crontab -l
  15 14 * * * env > /tmp/cavin.cron.env

And that would have been written at 2:10 pm (14:10) as a quick test,
with my still being logged in.

I've run into some problems previously with the granularity of cron,
but I'm not sure if that is an issue here.

Account that needs to run cronjobs:

  bash-2.03$ grep amandal /etc/passwd
  amandal:x:21:3:Local Amanda account for backups:/var/local/amanda:/bin/athena/bash

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
