What were you trying to do?
Read emacs documentation in emacs.
What did you do:
press C-h i m emacs
What happened:
"no node emacs"
Why did it fail:
There is no "emacs" node in the default info directory,
which is the gnu locker, oddly enough. It seems an odd place
to start, the info path, but sure enough:
Info-default-directory-list's value is
("/afs/athena.mit.edu/project/gnu/info" "/usr/local/lib/info/" "/usr/local/info/" "/usr/athena/info/" "/usr/athena/info/")
Workaround:
Use C-h i g "(/usr/athena/info/emacs)"
Other platform notes:
/usr/athena/info/dir exists on the sun4x_58 srvd.
@broken-record[It's dumb we don't
have a linux srvd in afs.]
Miscellanea:
Ages ago someone asked me what better questions would be for the
bug report form. See above.
