System name: quickstation-lobby-16-1.mit.edu
Type and version:	i686 9.0.15
Display type: XFree86 3.3.6a SVGA

Shell: /bin/sh
Window manager: sawfish

What were you trying to do?
	login

What's wrong:
I got a ~60second pause after xlogin before I was told I had
a temporary homedir. I don't understand why I was given one.

The machine can ping my fileserver, and I can cd to my afs volume.
fs checks -fast did not show anything.

What should have happened:
Perhaps some explanation should have been provided?
