What were you trying to do?
Use this particular machine.
What's wrong:
/etc/shadow was missing and nothing seems to automatically
restore it. (This prevented any non-root console logins,
though perhaps xlogin wasn't affected, I didn't check.)
Also, /etc/athena/verify on bootup complains about not being
able to stat /afs/athena/system/rhlinux/config/9.0.15/etc/inetd.conf
and .../conf.linuxconf (presumably from STEP 3).
What should have happened:
/etc/shadow should have been copied out of AFS or otherwise
regenerated, probably.
