Hi Folks,
I just noticed that /etc/passwd on the Athena Linux systems version
9.0.14, has the line:
nobody:x:99:99:Nobody:/:
However, Hesiod has:
$ hesinfo 99 uid
glwilson:*:99:101:Gerald L. Wilson,Gerry,4-205,34630,:/mit/glwilson:/bin/athena/tcsh
$ hesinfo nobody passwd
nobody:*:32767:101:Unprivileged User,,,,:/mit/nobody:/dev/null
$ hesinfo 32767 uid
nobody:*:32767:101:Unprivileged User,,,,:/mit/nobody:/dev/null
$ hesinfo 60001 uid
hesiod_resolve: Hesiod name not found.
And now that I look at it, the solaris 9.0.14 has
$ grep nobody /etc/passwd
nobody:x:60001:60001:uid no body:/:
I don't know if this will cause any difficulty whatsoever -- except
possibly for Gerry Wilson -- but I thought you'd want to know.
