What were you trying to do?
look at the new idle screen motd after it changed in AFS
What went wrong?
xlogin does not display the new MOTD until something
causes the screen to un-idle and re-idle
What should have happened?
under 8.4 and previous versions of athena, the new MOTD would
appear within about 10 minutes of it being changed.
Yo, got any documentation, or other info?
Could this be an unintended consequence of reactivate being
pulled out of xlogin or something.
