Kevin's suggestion is a reasonable one; checking the return
value of "fs whereis" should work on all platforms (throwing away
stderr, since it will burp an error if it's not in AFS).
It would also be nice to get a sun4x_58 -> sun4x_57 symlink
created in /mit/infoagents/arch/.
