It appears the Pentium IV is recognized (as an i686) in Linux kernel
2.2.18 and later. (It seems Intel pulled a fast one with model
numbering and the kernel had to be adjusted; normally this isn't
necessary.) Red Hat has released RPMS for kernel version 2.2.19 (and
I've put them in the redhat-6.2-updates area in the dev cell), but
they don't seem to work with our existing AFS module.
So I can't offer you a workaround at the moment, but maybe after
Monay's patch release goes out we can work on building a 2.2.19 AFS
kernel module, and provide instructions for manually updating to
kernel version 2.2.19. (The Athena release won't be using the new
kernel until after finals are over.)
