What were you trying to do?
Change the password of a local user. The user is labeled as local
as documented in access(5).
What's wrong:
[lucy@kobayashi-maru lucy]$ passwd
Running local password-changing program for lucy.
passwd: Only root can specify a username
What should have happened:
I should have been prompted for a password and had it changed.
I did not attempt to specify a username, so at very least
that error is innacurate.
