Hi Steven,

You report:

This was very likely caused by an update last night from a beta version
of JDK 1.3.0 (which was in the java_v1.3.0 locker) to the production release
of JDK 1.3.0 which was put in the same locker. I don't see your problem
(I get the normal messages), but I notice you're running an older Athena
release on an Ultra 60, neither of which I have access to for testing.

Presuming that you're still seeing the problem (a few things were
changed today to deal with another problem with the Java plugin, but I
don't think they would affect this particular problem), I think that
what happened is that you hit on an incompatibility in moving from the
beta to the production release with Solaris 2.6 that is not present in
Solaris 2.7.

The problem is what to do about this- I really need to keep as current
as possible with Java. I really don't want to have two versions of JDK
1.3.0 for Solaris on Athena. Can you either update the machine to Athena
8.4 or use an older Java release?

                                      Thanks,

                                             Alex
