I think the most likely cause of this problem is an outdated
athena-nmh package, since skyscraper is a layered machine installed
prior to the most recent version of that package.
If you run "rpm -q athena-nmh", it should tell you what version you
have. athena-nmh-8.4-13 is the most recent version. I'm betting that
you have athena-nmh-8.4-2. If that's the case, you can upgrade by
runnig (as root):
rpm -U /afs/athena.mit.edu/system/rhlinux/athena-8.4/free/RPMS/athena-nmh-8.4-13.i386.rpm
