What were you trying to do?
Boot the machine after it had hung.
What's wrong:
fsck ran in preen mode and reported an unreferenced directory
inode, indicating it was reconnecting it, and then stated
that the link count was 0 instead of 2 and labelled that an
unexpected inconsistency, and aborted.
What should have happened:
My understanding is that any unreferenced inode ought to have a link
count of 0, so that when fsck reconnects it, it should either increase
the link count, or be prepared to adjust the link count.
It doesn't seem that running fsck manually here is necessary
or even appropriate. Not to mention the fact that it's annoying.
