I just looked at another user login for which xss wasn't letting him
log back in. It appeared not to notice any keyboard input, although
clicking on the mouse buttons would bring up the unlock box, typing a
password from there had no effect.
The module was 'swirl', and it was still running. The hardware was an
SGI O2.
I rebooted the machine. (I should have remembered to try the
three-handed grip of death, but didn't.)
