This has been reported before, but unfortunately I haven't been able
to reproduce it, either as systest or as myself.

This is a generic dash bug, I think. dash appears to spring back to
its original position if a submenu triggers the shift, but not if a
main menu does.
I don't guarantee that we'll fix this problem, but I'll take a look.
