What were you trying to do?
Screensave with xss, invoked via xss-button.
What's wrong:
Nothing terribly bad, but I come back to find my console spewing
warnings. Here is the result of putting the console messages
through uniq -c, to spare you the huge mess.
6 20:45 moire: XShmAttach failed!

3 21:13 moire: XShmAttach failed!
1 21:13 xss: child pid 20719 (<unknown>) terminated with SIGTERM.
What should have happened:
Shouldn't have spewed warnings.
Also:
1) People here while I was away say that it did indeed display
moire patterns for a time, so this wasn't failing as much as
it sounds like it thought it was.
2) Running "moire" and "moire -root" at the command line Just Works.
3) I have no screensaver dotfiles. My only screensaver-related
X resources should really, really not be relevant, but for
completeness, they are
XScreenSaver.lockCommand: zaway
XScreenSaver.fade: False
XScreenSaver.timeout: 30
XScreenSaver.lockTimeout: 0
