On red-herring, a layered linux-athena box, I've got some afs weirdness.

If I try to write to a file in my home directory, I get an empty file,
and a "no space left on device" error, as does another user writing to
his homedir. I can read files in the top level of my homedir (anyuser l).
I can't list or read my Private directory, but I can both list and read
files underneath my Mail directory (acl'd similairly to Private).

kdump output is in /mit/cfox/Public/kdump-output

The machine is still in this state, so if there's anything I should test,
let me know.
