It is possible to build emacs without undump. We did this for AIX on
the RS/6000. Undump is less important than it was when GNU emacs was
new.
If you give me remote access to an Irix machine to do builds and
a suitable amount of disk space (local or remote) I will attempt
to debug the undump problem.
